Taking a closer look at organ transplants for Inmates
The need for organ transplants is rising in the Unites States. People are dying ever day because there isn't enough organs for organ transplants. Due to the lack of organs there is question about inmates receiving organ transplants. On average eighteen people die each day waiting for an organ.
Many argue that they do not deserve this type of surgery because of the illegal actions that they has chosen to involve themselves in. Others argue that it may be unconstitutional to not provide the proper health care for these inmates. This issue is ongoing and there have been no concrete solutions. The outcomes vary from state to state. There have been cases in Colorado and California where inmates have been granted organ transplant ahead of law abiding citizen. These cases caused much controversy within there communities and with patients waiting for the same organs. This website will focus in all the issues that come with this topic. We will focus on both points of views. I will also include information on cases of inmates that have been through this type of issues before. |
